We're getting down there...the clock is ticking...I keep telling myself that I'm doing fine and not nervous or anxious about this big move overseas. That can't be why I find myself waking up at 3 or 4 am and end up playing Words With Friends or Sudoku until I fall back asleep again!
I'm sure my subconscious is really the one that is stressed trying to handle everything on our plate with the checklist of items including the inventory and keeping track of everything and wondering what will go into each shipment and when will I move and how and when will I get my cats back to NY and when will our house be listed and what if we have showings when the house is a complete disaster and how the heck am I supposed to stay organized and most of all when will everyone stop looking at me all confused when I say I DON'T KNOW to all of those questions?????
No worries, I'm not going to the crazy house quite yet. Today was a good day, the weather was beautiful, there were no clouds in sight and NO sirens in the air! And our house is on the market! That was a big check off the list as well as touching base with all of our relocation contacts in regards to the move. We're scheduled to start packing on June 6th with just the air portion of our shipment getting to the new house by the end of June and the bigger portion not arriving until mid July. That still leaves a few question marks in terms of my departure but Dave will be in Germany for work the 2nd week of June and be able to settle in with what little he's taking. Honestly I think he could survive with a toothbrush and toilet paper while I need everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink.
All in all we're very excited now that everything is falling into place and getting so close. Today is the first day that I actually started looking at Mediterranean Cruises and other trips around Europe probably because I'm getting inundated with travel emails that are guaranteeing me their rock bottom prices.
We are always ready for the "transition" part of this to be over. Unfortunately with this move it takes a bit longer, but we're so ready to just GET there! Dave is excited about his BMW 3 Series and I'm excited about my TREK 7.3 WSD, no car for me!
The next post may not be until we are both back in Germany unless I can convince Dave to jump into Blogger during all of his free time :)
Until then,
Tschüss
